Suva Market

If you are in Fiji and love the color, aroma and taste of the fruits, vegetables and seafood, then I highly recommend that you visit the Suva market on a Saturday morning. Usually the place is always busy with different variety of local produces being showcased. On one section you have the fishermen’s corner, with all different kind of fish, individually sold or in bundles with crustaceans, seashells, seaweed and other seafood. Then you have villagers on the outskirts of the main land selling their usual fiddle heads, and whatever that is in season. The Highlanders with their freshwater mussels or the ladies from Waiqanake with their already cleaned and treated seafood in the takeaway packs. Inside the main market shed you have the main middle men, selling their usual. Go up the upper floor then you can buy spices and Grog (yaqona). For me marketing on Saturday has become not only a hobby but somehow the highlight of my weekends:):)
